Science Centers at Other Colleges

Hey guys, our group decided to put a post on the blog where we are going to put everything we find from other colleges, that way we can all see pictures and links from the other Science Centers and will be able to show you all in class. Even though this topic is empty now, it will get added to in the days to come.

Hey guys, I checked out Notre Dame and a few other of the bigger Catholic schools I know. I found pretty much nothing in any of their pictures of their science centers. They are all really bland and plain with no decoration at all, let alone religious decoration. The Notre Dame science center did however use windows at each end of a long hallway to allow natural light into the building but I don't know if that helps us much.

This is a link to a page on the Georgetown website. There are no interior pictures of the building but you can clearly see the cross and the roman numerals on either side of it.

Hey, St Edwards University just got a 7.5 million dollar grant to build a new Natural Science center on their campus. This is the link to their Science Center's website, even though there are not images of art I could find, maybe it will be helpful.

Here is The website for Holy Cross College in Worcester's new Science Center. You can see what they plan to do with the outside and with the architecture, but as usual, no art.

Hey guys, I don't know about you but I've pretty much found nothing for our topic or whatever you want to call it. But I still need to write up a short progress report for class on Wednesday so if you guys could just comment on this topic and tell me if you found anything that would be great. Thanks a lot.

yeah, Noah, I ran into the same problem. It seems that there has been a trend in the Holy Cross Colleges to begin building new Science Centers, but virtually none of them have any artwork incorporated into their designs.
Although this makes it harder to hammer out exactly what we want to do, I think it is actually a good thing because now we know that we are truly blazing new trails, and like the Sister said last week, whatever we do as long as it comes from within will be correct and powerful.
